NoCo Mini Maker Faire Nerdy Derby

As part of the NoCo Mini Maker Faire, the Nerdy Derby was like the Boy Scouts of America's Pinewood derby, but with a lot more creativity. Arts students from CSU's LEAP program gathered to show kids (and kids at heart) how creativity and innovation go hand in hand.

As Donation Chair, I helped lead a team in charge of requesting materials to build our tiny derby cars. Materials anything from washers for wheels to pipe cleaners and legos for decorations. It was a hands-on experience requesting donations from many local companies. Read sample donation letters and material request forms here.
